B'More Creatives Closing + Connecting Beyond 2017

I just sent this blast:

Dear B’More Creatives,

Thank you so much for being a part of our professional community, one that has been supporting women in the creative profession since 2004. This group was started by Joe L. Wagner, who saw a need to bring women together for a means of learning from each other, networking, mentoring, and sharing professional opportunities. Over the years our group has grown and morphed in many fruitful ways. Similarly, the creative and marketing professional communities of Baltimore are also thriving with many events and programs to support creatives. The season of B'More Creatives is gracefully coming to a close, and our leadership wishes for our group to end as strongly as it started. We have decided on an ending date of December 31st, 2017.

We still strongly believe that there are many opportunities for young designers, writers, web developers, and more to learn from their peers. We as an industry must shape our experience and help others grow. We are working on a contingency plan for those that want to continue to stay connected and keep the conversation going after Dec 31st.

We are also hosting the B’More Creatives End of An Era Masquerade Party, on Wednesday, Dec 6th at The Elephant in Mt Vernon (https://bmorecreativeslegacy.splashthat.com). If you're in the Baltimore/DC area, we invite you to come rocking your most creative mask, and join us as we celebrate a long legacy in Baltimore.

Sad to see it go. It has helped my business many times. I liked connecting with other creative people, especially when I needed an artist or Web designer. I will not be attending the party.

That is very sad indeed! While I understand the need for board members to shift focus, do we have to loose the message board too? Can we still communicate with each other?

I too am sad to see this happen! Though I too also understand the needs of board members. And I too would like to know if we can keep the connection somehow. I'd like to offer my help in finding a way to maintain communication between members of this community. It's a strong one - and one that's so important, especially now.

Hey ladies, thank you so much for commenting, I just wanted to reiterate Jessica's comment: We are working on a contingency plan for those that want to continue to stay connected and keep the conversation going after Dec 31st.

For all the reasons that you have cited, we believe that keeping the conversation going is important and will announce the contingency plan in the next few weeks.
