sustainable paper choices

Greetings all

I am working on the design of my first book project and am looking for some recommendations for papers. I'd like to have the cover, and the interior pages, printed on Green Seal and/or FSC certified paper. Something that is environmentally friendly, and sustainably produced.

I was wondering - how many of you have been venturing into the sustainable forest? :) I'm trying to find resources online, but am a bit overwhelmed. Has anyone worked with specific paper types, or local printers who specialize in this type of printing?

Does it appear that printing on sustainable papers is becoming more commonplace? I hope so.

I would love to hear any thoughts on this topic! Jenn

We have been working with a number of FSC Certified Printers throughout the past three years. I find that offering this perk to our clients is wonderful. 99% of the time, we are able to offer them printing with the FSC Certification without an cost increase and with no compromise in the quality. The printers that we use are: Baltimore Color Plate (smaller size jobs, offset, digital, and mail services), and Schmitz Press (larger jobs, offset). Once you start using the FSC logo, you'll start to notice it on more an more things in the marketplace! Cougar Opaque is a nice uncoated sheet. Productolith is our other go-to.
